Home Testimonials Veronica G.

Veronica G.

What was your initial medical issue?

Severe arthritis in my left ankle resulting from post-accident surgery in April of 2018.

What did your pain or other symptoms prevent you from doing?

Constant pain and periodic collapse of ankle prevented me from walking normally. I needed both a cane and a brace and still had trouble walking. I believe I would’ve ended up in a wheelchair if surgery wasn’t done.

Why did you choose Dr. Sanders and Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center?

Dr. Sanders was recommended by Dr. Peter Lavine, the surgeon who operated on me after my accident in 2018.

What procedure/treatment did you have done?

Ankle replacement surgery, removal of hardware from original surgery, graft of fibula, which had not healed properly after original surgery.

How did you feel after your treatment?

The surgery was a complete success, and Dr. Sanders’ follow-up care and attention was excellent. The most remarkable result is the fact that I had absolutely no complications from the surgery. I am 74 years old and have had two major and three minor surgeries over the course of my lifetime, including near-fatal hemorrhaging from the two major surgeries. Dr. Sanders listened, took my history very seriously, was fully prepared for what could go wrong while doing everything in his power to prevent a problem. The result? This is the first surgery I’ve ever had that involved absolutely no complication. The surgery was three months ago and already I’m walking almost normally with no pain! I feel like it’s a miracle.

Do you have any advice for other patients?

Tell Dr. Sanders all of your reservations, follow his instructions, and trust him 100%.
