I tore my left tendon. It was repaired, (bromstrom surgery). However, I broke my ankle and it did not heal properly. As a result I had swelling and pain for the past 3 years.
What did your pain or other symptoms prevent you from doing?
I was unable to work out and wear heels. I had lots of swelling and I had to wear an ankle brace daily in order to walk.
Why did you choose Dr. Neufeld and Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center?
I chose Dr. Neufeld after getting two other opinions. Dr. Neufeld listened to my concerns and noticed that I had lots of scar tissue that inhibited my movement. He also noticed I had a knot from my previous surgery that was out of place.
What procedure/treatment did you have done?
Dr. Neufeld removed the scar tissue and repaired the error to the bromstrom procedure that was previously done by my podiatrist.
How did you feel after your treatment?
I feel amazing. I am able to wear wedges and I am working my way back into wearing my heels. I have better mobility and I have almost completed my physical therapy.
Do you have any advice for other patients?
Always get a second opinion and make sure it's with Dr. Neufeld and his team. Dr. Neufeld has allowed me to regain my mobility and begin to work out again.
