Broken 2nd metacarple in my right foot due to a large object dropping on my foot.
What did your pain or other symptoms prevent you from doing?
Walking, standing, running, driving.
Why did you choose Dr. Cuttica and Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center?
I went to two podiatrists in the Valley and they were of no help and I didn’t trust them to do surgery. In reviewing Dr. Cuttica’s resume, he looked like the best surgeon to handle the surgery. I also liked that he specialized in the foot and worked on athletes and ballet dancers. If professionals that depend upon their feet trust him, then I’m comfortable trusting my foot to him.
What procedure/treatment did you have done?
Dr. Cuttica put a plate with screws to tie the bone fracture together.
How did you feel after your treatment?
I went through the expected recovery period with PT and I still have some residual pain, but that’s to be expected.
Do you have any advice for other patients?
Don’t hesitate to use Dr. Cuttica if you require surgery on your foot. The one lesson I learned after seeing two podiatrists who couldn’t help me was to go to the best surgeon and don’t waste your time with intermediary people. The podiatrist was prepared to put my foot in a cast with the bone out of alignment which would have resulted in a lifetime of problems.
