I had a bunion on my right foot.
I was having pain when walking and my gait had changed causing leg and hip pain.
When researching bunion surgery, Dr. Cuttica came up as an expert in my area. I checked with my PCP and he told me that Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center was the only place in Northern Virginia he referred patients to for anything foot and ankle related.
I had a bunion surgery right foot on 2/21/20, followed by PT and then removal of hardware on 12/15/20.
Immediately after surgery I had pain for several days. I spoke with Dr. Cuttica on post op day 3 and he increased my meds for a day to get it under control. After that the recovery period was a bit longer than I expected, but everything progressed and I am now able to do pretty much anything I want to with no pain!
Do your research to understand the options you have for your condition. Be sure to keep a list of questions for all appointments. Dr. Cuttica is extremely patient and willing to answer all questions. I never was rushed during appointments.
