Alex S.

What was your initial medical issue?

My initial medical issue was swelling of my right ankle and little mobility. I partially tore a ligament on the outside of my ankle and had loose bodies floating in the front of my ankle. It was swollen for about 5 months until I saw Dr. Neufeld.

What did your pain or other symptoms prevent you from doing?

My pain was bearable. I had little mobility and limited strength in my ankle but was able to play the remainder of my season on it. I had to rehab every day and ice to keep it tolerable. But overall the symptoms effected how I played, ran, and lifted. This was a big issue for me as I play Lacrosse at the University of Maryland.

Why did you choose Dr. Neufeld and Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center?

Through a family friend.

What procedure/treatment did you have done?

Ankle ligament reconstruction.

How did you feel after your treatment?

Almost 3 months after and it feels great.

Do you have any advice for other patients?

When working back to running, do not overdo it.

The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics is redefining the way musculoskeletal care is delivered across the region with locations throughout Maryland, DC, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
