Physical Therapy
The Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center’s physical therapy
department was developed with the intention of implementing an
inter-disciplinary approach to rehabilitation. There is often limited
communication between a patient’s doctor and physical therapist – which can
poorly impact a patient’s rehabilitation. The Physicians and I are frequently
communicating about our patients to ensure that the patient is achieving their
rehabilitation goals in the safest and most efficient manner.
The OFAC physical therapy department
specializes in outpatient orthopaedics, with an emphasis on the foot and ankle,
although all orthopaedic patients are welcome. Some common ailments which are
frequently treated include:
-
Achilles tendonitis / repair
-
Plantar fasciitis
-
Osteoarthritis
-
Weakness / Effusion of Ankle
-
Ankle sprain
-
Ankle fracture
-
Bunionectomy
-
Total Ankle Replacement
-
Posterior Tibialis Tendonitis / or Transfer / Repair
-
Peroneus longus Tendonitis / or Transfer / Repair
Helping patients achieve their
rehabilitation goals and returning to their pre-morbid level of function is my
top priority as a physical therapist. The inter-disciplinary approach offered
at the OFAC will expedite your treatment and offer the most effective care. We
look forward to helping you regain your function and independence!
